New exhibitions, a drawing marathon, live performances, a parallel program of Larnaca Biennale, and many more cultural events in Limassol, Larnaca, and Nicosia.

Limassol

13th edition of Moneylab, “Krypto: Decrypting the Artist” 

The overall aim of MoneyLab is to deconstruct, and reveal the hidden machinations of the ever-evolving digital economies, and speculate on radical alternatives. The 2023 edition will concentrate on the precarious financial existence of artists and it will investigate and interrogate the so-called decentralized opportunities that sprang in 2020 in the blockchain-reliant Crypto sphere, which includes but is not limited to NFTs. The conference will bring together 16 speakers from abroad and an exhibition in NeMe art center.

Performance “𝗔𝗶𝗡𝗔” by Suzana Phialas

“AiNA” comes to life as an IRL simulation of the artist’s post-photographic Ai body of work “Performing anatomies”. Phialas’ work & improvisations with the performers are based on images & videos of her Latest custom trained AI model. While the majority of creations within this collection take the form of still images which are not yet released, the inception of AiNa marks the artist’s initial venture into creating an IRL simulation in the genre of performance/installation based on this Ai model.

Finissage of the “FIXED CLOUD” exhibition and open talk with art group Collapse

FIXED CLOUD - the inaugural exhibition of the art collective Collapse features the works of three artists, namely Sasha Slepchuk, Masha Adamova, and Skolzki. What makes this project truly unique is that each piece you'll see was created by all three artists at the same time. They work with paper and canvases, incorporate the elements typical for their art styles, pass the work on to each other, or create it simultaneously by all three of them, uniting individual languages into a common one. “Drawing room” a group exhibition of figure drawings at Lumiere Gallery

The figure drawing works by local and international artists will be presented at  the Lumiere Gallery in Limassol. As the drawing remains the foundation of all types of fine arts, experience the way of human bodies interpretations by different artists.

Figure drawing marathon 

In collaboration with BareArt and ARTNOW Lumiere gallery presents a weekend of figure drawing. Male and female models, two life drawing sessions — on the ground floor of the gallery and upstairs.

Backflip.Wave.Splash. Performance - live concert by Marios Pavlou

A performance juxtaposing, reconstructing, and mixing electronic sounds with lyrics inspired by the Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, creating narratives on the often unsettling experience of the physical within the social body. Images and songs that unravel from a stream of consciousness informed by gender fluidity and the rediscovery of a body. The voice becomes the mediator of these thoughts and emotions; to share experiences of desire, identification, and sexuality through performance, moving image, writing, and music.

An opening of the “NYX5R” environmental art exhibition

Go green and visit the “NYX5R” environmental art exhibition at NYX Hotel Limassol organized with the support of City Friends Club and ARTNOW. The show previously called Re:course was on everyone's lips in the summer and will come back updated. You see local artists’ artworks and their commitment to a more eco-conscious culture.

Solo exhibition of Vassia A.Vanezi “We Will Meet Again”

Vassia Vanezi is a multimedia artist whose work provides insights that address social, political, and cultural issues. The show ‘We Will Meet Again' includes three series: abstract geometric paintings, linguistic installations in different forms, and woven structures. In the works presented at this exhibition, Vanezi explores the themes of loss, displacement, memory, and belonging.

The opening event of EVROVIZION crossing stories and spaces

The co-creative exhibition explores the current social and political situation in Europe and the idea of a European identity. EVROVIZION focuses on less visible and marginalised geopolitical and cultural spaces, in particular in southeastern and eastern Europe. These are so-called “semi-peripheries” and “places of diversity” that often play only a minor role in many international theoretical discourses and exhibition practices. In close cooperation with regional protagonists and each local art scene, new artistic projects are being added to the exhibition during its tour.

Exhibition “Seeing through Melancholia” 

This exhibition introduces modern and contemporary transcultural melancholias in the Eastern Mediterranean. In addition to the international contributions of the renowned Parisian photographers Eugène Atget and Edith Guerin, Armenian-Turkish photographer Ara Güler, and Lithuanian photographer Arūnas Baltėnas, this exhibition will bring together contemporary artists from Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean.
